However, I do use DAP quite often and then combine parts of that output with other stuff in CS2. The problems are that it takes time (not as bad as RoboBrush!) and you don’t know what you’ll get until its done. The programme then gets to work making the painting for you. The preset styles include Van Gogh, Benson, Monet, etc., etc. Here you give the programme a photographic image and either choose a preset style or make a style yourself (never done this personally – I’m no DAP expert!). Perhaps you are not familiar with Dynamic Auto Painter (DAP), which was also designed by Oscar. Now, you just push a button, and BAM, you got yourself a Monet, Da Vinci, Van Gogh, etc. The little bit that I learned to do by buying a bunch of books took hours to complete and drained my memory. I recall that I was totally blown away by what it could do but frustrated that I couldn’t create artistic images. It was about 18 years ago when I first started using PS7.

ARTRAGE 5 BETA SOFTWARE

It shall be fun to see what you do with this software or softwares. I appreciate you sharing all of the details, Peter. You may have something here if you are trying to imitate certain styles. BUT THEN, I stood back about five feet and started to like what I saw. It is very artistic and does have some merit. Is that correct? Is there a certain style that you at least get to choose before the ROBO takes over? Perhaps another style would be more flattering for this portrait because at first I felt that the end result was a little too removed from the original. So your BETA Robobrush took over your Rebelle and did all the work that you would normally do digitally with Rebelle. But then, based on style, you may not want the strokes to dry if you were using oils or watercolor. I am sort of amazed to think that the process is practically like replacing a human painter which meticulously makes each individual stroke without waiting for the paint to dry in between layers. This is certainly interesting – could lead to some useful software. This is what RoboBrush produced driving Rebelle and using the Acrylic settings: I would say that my resulting image was not as good as I had hoped, but with a bit of Photoshop work I could fix it up. I stopped the programme manually after about three hours, because at that stage it was just adding white highlights, which means that all it was doing was very slowly improving the BETA sign – not really improving the image at all. After trying various bits of the programme, I set it to work on “Oil Color Multilayer – Takes few Hours to complete”. I started with an portrait image that I had handy. Also, it appears to keep painting over areas that were already satisfactorily painted, adding to the time taken.

It is fascinating to watch, but it takes far too long. Fascinating – but how does it work in practice? You set it up, give it a start image, and away it goes.

ARTRAGE 5 BETA MANUAL

The idea behind RoboBrush is that, if you have a manual digital painting programme where you normally control the colour and size of the brush strokes, the software will take over your mouse/stylus and do the painting for you. The main restriction is that it prints BETA on your image. The software is currently at a beta test stage – so its not officially available as a product yet, but you can use it if you want. This is software written by Oscar, the guy who brought us Dynamic Auto Painter. Yesterday I came across a programme called RoboBrush (see ).

My attempts at using it so far have been frustrating, because I am a photo-manipulator and not really a painter. This is a digital painting programme that does amazing things with the watercolour brush.

ARTRAGE 5 BETA PRO

Studio Pro also includes support for Photoshop Filters and has inbuilt blur and color adjustment so you can tweak your results before completion.I recently received a copy of Rebelle as an Xmas present. ArtRage includes support for Layers and Blend Modes, along with PSD file import and export. Stickers can be used to apply pre-made images to the canvas, or spray complex detail in a single paint stroke made up of thousands of objects which can then be post-edited for fine adjustment. Stencils and Rulers let you mask areas of the canvas and create freehand precise lines using tools familiar from the art-studio. Studio Pro also includes utility tools such as Selection and Text. ArtRage Studio Pro provides a range of painting tools designed to work like their real world counterparts, including traditional artistic tools such as: Oils that smear and blend on the canvas, Watercolor that can be applied on wet or dry paper, and Inking Pens that create crisp lines with optional auto-smoothing for removing the wrinkles that can occur in digital strokes.
